Podcasting
What are podcasts?
Podcasts are a new form of internet radio.
The concept behind them is really simple – someone records
their show and then puts it on the internet as an audio file, usually in mp3
format.
How do I get hold of podcasts?
The best way to receive podcasts directly to your computer
is to subscribe to the shows you like using a podcatcher, or podcast receiver.
Each time a new show is posted on the internet it will be downloaded directly to
your computer.
iTunes is a
very popular podcatcher. We use
Juice.
quick guide on installing and using Juice.
How to listen to podcasts?
First copy the RSS feed for the podcast you want into your podcast receiver.
Sometimes you will need to right click on a small XML icon, select 'Copy
Shortcut' and then paste this into your podcatcher.
Our RSS feeds are:
|
mp3 format |
http://www.myobpod.com/mp3/rss.xml |
 |
|
m4a format |
http://www.myobpod.com/m4a/rss.xml |
 |
Just choose the format (mp3 or
m4a) you prefer.
Alternatively click on the iTunes
subscribe button.

You don’t
need an iPod (from where the name podcast comes) to listen to podcasts. You can
listen to them either on your computer or by copying them to any device that
will play the audio file format of your podcast (usually mp3 or m4a/mp4).
