Guest Contributors

We welcome suggestions for guests on the Mind Your Own Business Podcast.

However, we get a lot of proposals some of which are unsuitable, both for ourselves and the proposer. So, before putting yourself or others forward, please consider the following:

• The Mind Your Own Business Podcast is not an audio trade magazine. We are not a small business news channel, nor a conduit for press releases. We do not say there is anything wrong with these, just that our show is not one of them.
• We are not short of content. We are looking for guests who will enhance the quality of our shows, not just provide filler material. We’d rather a short but good show than a longer, duller show.
• We understand that you probably have a product or service to promote. In your shoes we would be looking to do the same thing. We are perfectly happy with this but we are not the right place for advertorial. Guests need to have something to say that we judge to be of genuine interest to our listeners independent of simply promoting their own business. We are very happy to mention the business and reference it at the start or end of the interview but we would not feature an interview that was simply a promotional piece.
• Please listen to one or more of our recent shows before contacting us to make sure you feel comfortable that our style and format is suitable to your needs.
• You must expect to be challenged and be willing to defend your point of view. If you have listened to some of our previous shows you will know that we like a testing and lively show.
• We do not conduct telephone interviews because we find the audio quality is too bad to be sustained for anything more than 2-3 minutes. We will, however, do interviews over Skype. But, best results are always obtained by coming into our studio in Cardiff, Wales.
• Please do not tell us how your guest is going to make our show even better (especially if you haven’t ever listened to one of our shows). We respectfully request that we be allowed to judge that.
